Who's Behind The Fares

About TheTravelValley

Who we are

Built By Travellers, For Travellers

TheTravelValley started with a simple frustration: comparing flights, hotels and vacation packages online shouldn't feel like a scavenger hunt for hidden fees. We're a travel booking platform that pulls fares from hundreds of airlines and properties into one place, then backs every search with a real support team that actually answers the phone.

Whether you're booking a same-week domestic hop or planning a multi-country trip months out, our goal is the same — show you honest pricing, explain the trade-offs, and let you book with confidence.

What we do

One Search, Every Option That Matters

We work with partner airlines, hotel chains and car rental providers to build a bridge between them and everyday travellers. Instead of bouncing between a dozen tabs, you search once on TheTravelValley and see flights, stays, packages and rentals compared side by side — filtered by what actually matters to you: price, schedule, or comfort.

Budget-conscious or looking for a splurge-worthy upgrade, our job is making sure you're choosing from the right shortlist, not just the first page of results.

How we do it

Technology That's Backed By People

Live fare comparison technology narrows thousands of options down to the ones worth your time. But technology alone can't rebook a delayed connection at 2am or explain a confusing fare rule — that's where our travel experts come in. Get in touch any time and you'll reach a person, not a script.

This combination — fast search plus real support — is what lets us offer exclusive discounts you won't find by searching alone, and why so many of our travellers call us before their next trip instead of starting from scratch.

Our vision & mission

Where We're Headed

Our Vision

To make honest, transparent travel booking the default, not the exception — where the fare you see is the fare you pay, and getting help never means sitting on hold for an hour.

Our Mission

To make travel feel accessible again — surfacing real discounts instead of just the first result, supporting travellers before, during and after their trip, and treating every booking with the same care, economy or first class.

How TheTravelValley Actually Started

Most of us on the founding team came from customer-facing jobs in the travel industry before this β€” airline call centres, hotel front desks, a couple of us from independent travel agencies that got squeezed out once big booking sites took over search traffic. What we kept noticing from that side of the counter was the same complaint over and over: people didn't trust the price they were shown until they'd called someone to confirm it wasn't going to change at checkout.

That's a strange thing to build an entire industry around β€” a booking flow that quietly trains customers not to trust the number on the screen. So the original idea for TheTravelValley wasn't really a technology idea at all. It was closer to a service philosophy: show the real price up front, and keep a phone line open for anyone who wants a person to double-check it before they commit. Everything else β€” the fare comparison engine, the partner network, the site itself β€” got built around that starting point, not the other way around.

How We Choose Our Airline, Hotel and Car Rental Partners

We don't list every airline or hotel chain that will let us. Before a partner shows up in search results, we look at three things: how reliably their pricing data feeds into our system without stale fares slipping through, how they handle disputes and cancellations when something goes wrong, and whether their published policies actually match what happens when a traveller calls them directly. A partner that looks great on paper but is a nightmare to reach when a flight gets cancelled doesn't make the cut, no matter how competitive their base fares are.

That filtering is part of why our results sometimes look a little different from a pure price-sorted list on a bigger aggregator. We'd rather show you a slightly higher fare from an airline that answers its phone than the rock-bottom option from one that doesn't.

Car rental partners go through a similar filter, just with different red flags. We pay close attention to how clearly a provider discloses mandatory fees, deposit holds and fuel policies before you reach the counter, since that's where a lot of rental surprises actually happen β€” not in the headline daily rate, but in the paperwork you sign after you've already landed and just want your car.

What Actually Makes Us Different

Every travel site claims to have the best prices, so we'll skip that pitch. What we can say honestly is that we built phone support into the business from day one instead of bolting it on after the fact. A lot of booking platforms treat their support line as a cost centre to be minimised β€” routed through overseas call queues, scripted responses, long holds. Ours is treated as part of the product. If you call about a fare, whoever picks up can actually see your search, not just a generic script for "flight questions."

We also don't hide behind dynamic pricing tricks. Some sites show a price, then add fees at checkout that weren't visible during search. We build our comparison pages to reflect the total cost as early as we can get accurate data on it, and when a fare requires add-ons β€” checked bags, seat selection, a specific fare class β€” we say so on the search results page instead of waiting until you're three steps into checkout.

The People Behind the Phone

Our support team is made up of licensed travel agents and customer service specialists, not a rotating cast of generalist call-centre staff reading from an unrelated script. Most of the people answering calls have handled actual airline and hotel bookings before joining us, which matters more than it sounds β€” someone who's personally dealt with a same-day rebooking during a weather delay gives very different advice than someone reading a policy page for the first time while you're on hold.

New team members spend their first weeks shadowing bookings before taking calls solo, and we keep the team small enough that a supervisor can step in on a complicated itinerary rather than passing you along to yet another department. It's slower to scale that way, but it's also why a lot of our repeat customers say the same thing: they call us directly now instead of starting a fresh search somewhere else.

Our Approach to Pricing

We make money the same way most travel platforms do β€” a commission from the airline, hotel or car rental provider when you book through us, built into the fare rather than charged to you as a separate service fee. That means our incentive is to actually get you booked on something that fits your trip, not to upsell you into the most expensive option on the page. A customer who books once and never calls again isn't as valuable to us as one who trusts us enough to call for their next three trips.

Where we can, we also pass along exclusive rates that our partners release specifically for direct calls rather than online self-service β€” these don't always appear in the search results because they're tied to a live conversation with a partner rep, not something we can display automatically. If a fare on the site looks close but not quite right for your dates, it's always worth a quick call to check whether something better exists off-screen.

Group Trips, Multi-City Itineraries and the Bookings That Don't Fit a Simple Search Box

A lot of what our search engine handles well β€” a round trip for one or two people, a straightforward hotel stay β€” is also what every other booking site handles well. Where we tend to actually earn our keep is on the messier itineraries: a family of six flying out of three different cities to meet at the same destination, a honeymoon that starts in one country and ends in another, a business trip that needs to quietly become four extra vacation days without anyone in finance noticing the difference.

Those bookings rarely come out right from a self-service search box on the first try, and that's fine β€” that's what the phone line is for. Tell us the shape of the trip you're trying to build and we'll tell you honestly whether it's cheaper to book it as one itinerary or split it into pieces, since the answer isn't the same for every route or group size.

When Something Goes Wrong on Your Trip

No comparison site can promise a flight will never get delayed or a hotel will never lose a reservation β€” that's just the reality of travel. What we can control is what happens next. If you booked through us and something falls apart mid-trip, the same support line you'd call to book a flight is the one you call to fix a problem with it, and the person answering can pull up your original booking instead of asking you to explain everything from scratch.

We've rebooked people onto later flights during storm cancellations, tracked down hotels that "lost" a prepaid reservation, and talked travellers through last-minute visa or documentation issues at odd hours. None of that is glamorous work, but it's the actual test of whether a travel booking site is worth using β€” not how it performs when everything goes smoothly, but whether it's still useful when it doesn't.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is TheTravelValley an airline or hotel itself?

No β€” we're a booking platform that compares fares and rates across partner airlines, hotels and car rental providers, then helps you book directly with them.

How do you make money if searching is free?

We earn a commission from the airline, hotel or rental provider when you complete a booking through us, similar to how most travel comparison sites work.

Can I actually reach a real person if something goes wrong?

Yes β€” our support team is staffed by our own team, not an outsourced script-only call centre, 24 hours a day.

Do you only work with major airlines and hotel chains?

Most of our partners are established names, but we also work with smaller regional airlines and independent properties where their pricing and support hold up to our standards.

Why might your price differ from a bigger booking site?

We sometimes exclude fares from partners with poor cancellation or dispute handling, even if their listed price is lower, which can make our results look slightly different from a pure price-sorted list.

Do exclusive discounts really exist?

Yes β€” some partners release rates specifically for our travel experts that don't always show up in automated search results.

What happens if my flight gets cancelled after I book through you?

Call our support line with your booking details and we'll work directly with the airline on rebooking options, the same way we would for a fresh search.

Do you charge extra fees on top of the airline or hotel price?

No separate service fee is added at checkout β€” our revenue comes from the commission built into the partner's rate, not an extra charge to you.
